| effleurage | This is the gliding stroke. Smooth airplane contact is made with our partner and the stroke is used to spread lubricant, relax our partner, increase circulation to an area, and to gather information/feedback. Both the rate and the pressure vary depending on the intention or goal of the session. This is a nice stroke to use in between other more specific strokes. Whenever we are working on the legs or arms the direction of the stroke is towards the heart -- to assist in the blood return. |
